Bible freedom

The Bible is God’s revelation of His heart to His children. There is not a book in the world that is more inspiring, uplifting and full of truth than this Book!

Since the beginning of this year, we have been motivating the people of our congregation to really get into the Word of God! Reading through the Bible in one year, studying and meditating on Scripture!

We however realized that there is a difference between reading the Bible under law and reading the Bible under grace!

What exactly do I mean by this? Some people started to read the Bible because they felt they had to, thus operating under the law. Thinking they must read the Bible to please God, feeling guilty if they missed one day of Bible reading. It became an obligation that brought condemnation.

Whereas under grace, Bible reading is something you do because you want to read His Word. Not because you want to please Him, but because you want to know this wonderful God better. It gives you a feeling of liberation and the result is life and joy!

Galatians 5:1(AMP) says:
1IN [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].

Stand fast in your freedom. Let the study of God’s Word bring you freedom. Read it because you want to read it. I promise the more you read it, the more you will want to read it!

Shalom!
